In simple terms, ERP systems manage the "big picture" of overall enterprise resources, while Production Scheduling Systems handle the "fine-grained execution" of shop-floor production. In practice, order and inventory data from the ERP system provide foundational information for the Production Scheduling System, and the execution results from the Production Scheduling System are fed back into the ERP system, forming a complete management loop.
