The rolling scheduling mechanism of the production planning and scheduling system, simply put, is a scheduling method that continuously updates the production plan at fixed intervals, ensuring smooth alignment between short-term execution and long-term planning.In practical applications, the Huipai Production Planning and Scheduling System first divides the entire production cycle into consecutive "rolling cycles," typically using one day or one week as a cycle. In these cycles, the plan for the nearest cycle is highly detailed, specifying which equipment to use for each process and the required working hours, directly guiding workshop production; while plans for cycles farther in the future are less detailed, only determining approximate order quantities and capacity allocation, serving as a reference for subsequent planning.
After each rolling cycle ends, the production planning and scheduling system automatically interfaces with shop floor production execution, warehouse inventory, order management, and other modules to collect the actual completion status of the cycle's plan—such as unfinished tasks, equipment failures, timely material consumption and replenishment, as well as latest updates like new orders added, changes in customer delivery times, etc. Subsequently, the production planning and scheduling system recalculates and adjusts the plan for the upcoming cycle based on this real data, incorporating new production tasks, correcting deviations from previous execution, while maintaining reasonable production continuity to prevent plan fragmentation.
