Lean Production traces its origins to the Toyota Production System in Japan. After World War II, representatives from Toyota visited Ford Motor Company in the U.S. for on-site research. Upon returning, and considering the economic environment in Japan at the time, they explored and developed the lean production model through years of iterative refinement, ultimately surpassing the U.S. automotive industry. Subsequently, lean production was adopted by numerous countries around the world. Currently, lean production in China is still in its early stages.
