Many people mistakenly believe that Kanban management is synonymous with lean production. This notion is incorrect. Although Kanban management is a core tool of lean production, implementing Kanban does not necessarily mean a company is engaging in lean production activities. Adopting lean production is a lengthy and complex process that cannot be achieved by applying just one management technique.
