Although smart factories represent the future trend for manufacturing enterprises, they should not blindly pursue this transformation. The transition to a smart factory must be grounded in the actual production processes and workflows, designing and implementing one or several smart production lines and smart equipment. These should be monitored through a set of highly operable application software, enabling real-time data collection, timely problem detection, and prompt resolution.
