Who coined the term "Lean Production"?

Through analysis by experts from the International Motor Vehicle Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, it was formally designated as "Lean Production," which corresponds to what we commonly refer to as lean manufacturing.

The concept of lean production originated from Toyota in the Japanese automotive industry. However, when it was first introduced to regions such as Europe and America, experts from the International Motor Vehicle Program (IMVP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) analyzed and subsequently named it "Lean Production," which is the same as what we refer to as lean production today.
