Recently, Alps Intelligent Manufacturing (hereinafter referred to as "Alps") partnered with Wuhan Tyrs Tools Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wuhan Tyrs"). Relying on Alps' lean digital equipment status monitoring OEE system, Alps provided Wuhan Tyrs with a comprehensive lean management solution. The system enables real-time tracking of equipment operation, optimizes resource allocation, and reduces waste. It also provides in-depth analysis of downtime causes and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), offering scientific data support to help Wuhan Tyrs make precise and efficient management decisions.

Wuhan Tyrs specializes in the non-standard manufacturing of carbide drills and milling cutters for special material processing. Leveraging internationally advanced manufacturing technology and specialized equipment, it achieves a 99.99% pass rate, delivering impeccable product quality. With ISO9001 certification and over 20 patented technologies, its products are trusted and recognized by industry giants such as China Chang'an, China Aerospace, and XCMG.

Facing fierce market competition and fluctuating orders, the leadership of Wuhan Tyrs has taken a forward-looking approach, actively deploying digital transformation and seeking ways to improve man-machine efficiency and optimize management to flexibly respond to market changes. Against this backdrop, Wuhan Tyrs partnered with Alps, hoping to strengthen digital and lean management of its production processes by introducing Alps' "small, fast, light, and precise" lean digital production system.

Alps Intelligent Manufacturing:

Empowering Wuhan Tyrs on a New Chapter of Efficiency Improvement and Cost Reduction

Pain Points of Wuhan Tyrs

As a professional manufacturer focused on the design, manufacturing, and regrinding of solid carbide drills and milling cutters for special materials, Wuhan Tyrs has increasingly realized the importance of finely managing man-machine input hours to enhance man-machine collaboration efficiency, especially amid growing order fluctuations and intensifying market competition. However, traditional production management models make it difficult to accurately control equipment utilization rate. For example, abnormal equipment shutdowns are hard to detect and locate quickly; equipment may be powered on but not producing... These issues rely on manual recording and management, leaving management without accurate data to formulate effective improvement strategies.

How Alps' Lean Digital Production Management Platform Empowers Wuhan Tyrs

1. Real-time Equipment Status Monitoring

Based on Wuhan Tyrs' actual situation, Alps introduced the TS-30 equipment status collector to enable real-time collection of equipment status and output. In addition, the SS series button (LingJie Button) was used to record downtime events and detail downtime causes. The LingJie Button can be flexibly customized according to production line needs. When frontline employees detect a shutdown, they simply press the corresponding button to report the cause, which is wirelessly transmitted to the OEE analysis system. Meanwhile, managers can monitor the production status of each device at any time via computer or mobile phone, obtaining real-time information on operation, standby, material waiting, alarms, etc.

2. Downtime Cause and OEE Analysis

Alps also introduced an OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) analysis system for Wuhan Tyrs. The system automatically records downtime events such as material change, tool change, and abnormal equipment repair, along with their durations. It then calculates the utilization rate of each device accurately, helping the company precisely plan equipment start/stop schedules, reduce startup costs, and ensure smooth production flow. Furthermore, the system leverages big data and intelligent statistics to highlight high-frequency and long-duration abnormal downtime issues and causes, providing targeted improvement and adjustment strategies for management, thereby injecting scientific data support into decision-making.

This collaboration is not only a demonstration of Alps' manufacturing technology strength but also a firm support for Wuhan Tyrs' digital transformation. Delivery is merely the starting point of service; Alps will continue to uphold the lean digital production management philosophy of "small steps, fast iteration" and the values of "customer-centric, harmonious win-win," persistently supporting Wuhan Tyrs' digital upgrade and transformation, and embarking on a new journey of digital transformation together with the customer. It is believed that with joint efforts, Wuhan Tyrs will achieve an even brighter future.
